Eve, the Athlete
As a youth, Eve was involved in most sports: soccer, basketball, track, and softball. She competed as a gymnast until the age of 12 and decided to use her gymnastics background to begin her 14 year activity in her chosen sport, cheerleading. Eve was fortunate enough to compete on several All-Star cheerleading squads, as well as with Texas Christian University’s Nationals Cheer Squad.
Unfortunately, the sport of cheerleading stops after college, so Eve began triathlon in 2002 as part of Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team In Training program. Her first race with them was an Olympic distance at Pacific Grove, CA and she was hooked! Since then she’s done many other triathlons including Capital of Texas Olympic Triathlon, Texas State Olympic Triathlon, River Cities Sprint Triathlon, Gulf Coast Half Ironman, Redman Half Ironman. She has also completed three marathons: Dallas’ White Rock Marathon twice and Mayor's Midnight Marathon in Anchorage. Eve’s most recent accomplishment in triathlon was Ironman Brazil where she finished successfully.
Eve has recently become involved with Tae Kwon in hopes of obtaining her black belt in the coming years.
Races:
White Rock Marathon 2006, Dallas, TX - 4:00:29
Turkey Trot 8 Mile; Dallas, TX - 1:04:21 (27/270 in AG)
Ironman Brazil; Florianopolis, Brazil - 14:15:22
Gulfman Half Ironman; Galveston, TX - 5:46:08 (Significant improvement from OK!)
Mayor's Midnight Marathon; Anchorage, AK - 4:07:38
Redman Half Ironman; Oklahoma City, OK - 6:54:13 (How embarrassing! OK, so we all have our bad races to speak of. I can contribute that time to lack of electrolytes!)
King's Trail Triathlon; Maui, HI - 3:06:53 (I was 3rd in my age group!)
CapTexTri 2005; Austin, TX - 2:42:40
RiverCities Sprint Triathlon; Shreveport, LA - 1:54:43
GulfCoast Half Ironman; Panama City, FL - 6:17:49
Texas State Triathlon; San Marcos, TX - 3:11:06
White Rock Marathon '03; Dallas, TX - 4:00:17 (WOW! That was a bummer! That 17 seconds was the beer I drank at mile 21!)
CapTexTri 2003; Austin, TX - 3:01:42
The Triathlon at Pacific Grove; Monterrey Bay, CA - 3:34:06 (Not bad for the first one considering I was on a mountain bike)
As you can see, I'm not a professional triathlete or anything. I can say that I've never bonked in a race. With Redman, I had a small problem with hydration and electrolytes, but that only took once! I look forward to making your races/game day easier for you!
