Todd
Goal: Body Fat to 10% or Below
Goal Reached!
Anyone that knows Todd will say that he's an
amazing athlete. I hear it from his friends and family members that
he refers to me. They always come in telling me, "Now, I'm not like
Todd, but I would like to achieve. . . ." Todd has goals and he
achieves those goals because he's very dedicated to nailing down his
nutrition with his training in mind. Todd has participated in meal
planning on two occasions coming up on "A" races for the season.
Both times, he's had great success with reaching his body fat goal
and having a great race!
Straight from Todd:
How have you benefited from working with Eve?
I worked with Eve initially because I was training
for an Ironman. My goal was to get to 10% body fat and remain properly
fueled for all my workouts. Happily, I did reach my body fat goal and
had a great race!
How long have you/did you work with Eve?
I worked with Eve for around 6 months prior to my
2007 Ironman. When the 2008 season approached, I decided to get focused
on nutrition again to drop the body fat I had accumulated over the off
season. As of this week, I have already gotten back to 10% body fat and
feel lean and strong and ready for my “A” races.
What are the most noted results you have
experienced?
In addition to dropping body fat, I have also
gained muscle mass and never have that drained feeling I used to get
after hard or long training sessions. Due to properly timing my meals,
I am always ready for each workout.
What was the most valuable information you took
from working with Eve?
Eating more times throughout the day and at the
proper times so that I can take in the increased calories I need as an
athlete and while still losing body fat.
Would you use the service again?
I have already signed up for this season!
Additional comments you’ve experiences or
thought throughout working with Eve.
I have
noticed an increase in my memory. I wake up easier in the morning and
do not suffer from low energy late in the afternoons like before.

Goal: Be Fit!
Goal Reached!

Dr. Mary Humm is an incredible woman.
She's a mom of 3, a wife, teaches piano lessons before and after
school hours, and still seems to find time in her day to eat healthy
and train enough to hang up several medals in rowing. All Mary did
was make the decision one year ago to begin working towards these
"what seemed to be out of reach" goals.
Read more on what Mary has to say...
"I first became acquainted with Eve Pearson through
our daughter Vanessa, who was suffering from a repetitive sports
injury. Eve worked with Vanessa through the injury and helped her to
ultimately win the national marathon rowing championship for junior
women's single in 2006, shattering the old record by more than 20
minutes. Since that time, my husband and I engaged Eve to work with
us nutritionally. Eve helped us with menu planning, gave us advice
on how to manage eating out, shopping, and was always encouraging
us. Since I began working with Eve, I have lost 25 pounds, 10 inches
overall, and nearly 10% body fat."
"She has helped me to restructure my entire approach
to nutrition and incorporate it into a lifestyle that promotes
health and well-being. Eve also drew upon her own athletic
experience to help me plan my nutritional needs for the US Rowing
Masters National Championships, where I won a bronze medal in the
mixed quad and earned personal best times on all of my other races.
More importantly, I look and feel better than I ever have, and am in
control of my health."
Mary's other accomplishments this year alone include:
Heart of Texas (Sprint): Silver Medal Mixed Master’s Quad
Lake Woodlands (Sprint): Gold Mixed Masters Quad, Gold Women’s Masters Single, Silver Women’s Masters Double
Route 66 Challenge (Tulsa Sprints): Silver Women’s Masters Double, Silver Parent Child Double
Rose Rock Regatta: Gold Parent Child Double, Silver Women’s Masters Double
US Masters Nationals: Bronze Mixed Masters Quad
Steerhead Regatta: Gold Women’s Masters Double, 3K:Gold Mixed Masters Double, Gold Mixed Masters Quad
Head of the Oklahoma (Night Sprints): Bronze Women’s Masters Double
Head of the Colorado: Gold Mixed Senior Masters Quad
U.S. Marathon National Rowing Championships 26.2 miles: Gold Women’s Masters
Double and the fastest time of any age group women’s double in that race.

"You are the only one
who has been able to help me. I have an eating disorder. Lots of
people do. I don’t believe you are ever “cured” from it. You learn
to deal with it. You learn to see read the signs. I have read mine.
I used to say that nothing can be left up to me. But I am learning
by working with you. I have had curve balls thrown my way. I can
tell you how I would have reacted a year ago today and how I
actually handled it today. World of difference. That is because of
you. You have become my crutch for now."
"I owe you a big hug.
I’ve had some huge mile stones! There have been two trainers at the
gym who don’t know me or really anything about me. Both have
commented. Just this morning one of them walked over to me and said
“You have really been losing weight, haven’t you?” I smiled and just
said yes. Then he said “You look great. Really great. Keep up the
good work!!” That was cool to have these two people that you think
look right past you and then they comment."
"Yeah!!!!!! Yea us!!"
Straight from Nikki:
How have you benefited from working with
Eve?
I have a brief story to tell.
I was taking a running class and during a
nutrition seminar, I learned about Eve. I started to call her in
September of 2006. But, I couldn’t. I was WAY to busy. One thing
after another kept coming up. I was sitting with my family after I
ran the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving day. My sister commented that
surely I must have been losing a ton of weight with all the running.
Actually, I hadn’t lost an ounce. In fact, I gained about 7 lbs. I
had enough. How much more could I cut back on my food? I barely ate
as it was.
I finally worked up the courage to call on
December 6th. We set an appointment for December 8th.
My best friend told me that I needed to be totally honest with her
if I wanted this to work. My thought was “Define totally honest.” As
I was talking with Eve during that appointment, she was casually
mentioning to me that we would work fine together as long as we
communicate. Communicate?? I thought to myself, “She doesn’t know
what she is getting into, does she?” Then, it hit me like a ton of
bricks. No. She didn’t know. I decided to be honest with her. I told
her “I had an eating disorder…..Have an eating disorder.” She
stopped typing, turned away from her computer and faced me. She said
“Have an eating disorder? How so?” That began my honesty. Not only
with her but with myself too. I explained the situation. But it was
hard because I was fat. I mean really fat. Not like one of those 60
pound little tiny girls that think they are fat. I mean like 35%
body fat and clinically obese fat. And here I was sitting in front
of this nearly perfect individual bearing my soul. Every thought,
every struggle, every everything. I was so embarrassed to say it I
was nearly paralyzed. I wanted to cry right there. But she smiled
and said “I think I can help you. If you will continue to be honest
with me, then I think I can help you.”
I believe that you never recover from an eating
disorder. You learn to deal with it, recognize the signs and work
though it. She has taught me how to recognize the difference in
really being hungry, and wanting to eat out of boredom or to deal
with stress. Most importantly, if I happen to binge, she has taught
me what it really means if I starve myself after. She has also
taught me why I can no longer do that. She has been so patient with
me. I know that I don’t have to make excuses. I just have to be
honest. 7 months later, I look forward to eating. I’ve lost 26 lbs,
12% body fat and more inches than I even know. The most important
thing is how I feel physically and emotionally. I’m not quite at my
goal yet, but I know I will get there. Next goal, ½ marathon. After
that, marathon. I am planning on keeping Eve with me for as long as
it takes.
How long have you/did you work with Eve?
I’m approaching 8 months with no plan on
discontinuing our relationship. My next goal is a half marathon.
Then a marathon. I would not take on that task without her.
What are the most noted results you have
experienced?
I’ve lost 30 pounds, 11% body fat, and more
inches than even know. More importantly, I am happy, outgoing,
enthusiastic, and energetic. I am a changed person. I am my old self
again.
What was your favorite part about workouts
with Eve (if applicable)?
Eve has been my personal trainer for about 5
months now. I love to be challenged. It is always a challenge. My
favorite part is the fact that I can see results happening now. I
trust that she will push me right to my limit, but I don’t have to
worry about getting injured. She would never let that happen.
What was the most valuable information you
took from working with Eve?
There is no single most valuable thing. It is
all valuable and I continue to learn from her every day.
Would you use the service again?
I don’t want to think about the term “again”.
Eve has become more than a service provider. She is someone that I
know I can count on. She is my friend.

Straight from Teri:
How have you benefited from using
Nutriworks’ services?
The #1 benefit of working with Eve has been for me to establish eating habits which are both healthy and satisfying while achieving my body composition,
performance and energy goals simultaneously. The keys for me are habit and schedule.
How long have you been working with Eve?
About 4 months.
What are the most noted results you have
experienced?
Before the racing season began, I had already experienced an epiphany of sorts – my energy was more balanced and I felt not only physical but also mental
sharpness much more consistently day to day, and throughout the day. This is extremely important to me because I am a Mother first, an Engineering Manager,
and in my spare time I strive to become a better athlete. These results had already sold me on staying committed to my nutrition.
In conjunction with this, Eve recorded improved body composition at each follow-up meeting. As I hoped, I was feeling better and getting leaner.
In the racing season, by incorporating eNutriCoaching with my Playtri coaching, I have already set two personal records and finally achieved my goal of
winning my age group in a sprint triathlon race. I know that nutrition is a crucial piece of my fitness puzzle.
What has been your favorite part about using eNutriCoaching?
I have enjoyed getting the weekly feedback and support from Eve while on the eNutriCoaching plan. Each week she has a new idea for me to try or some
advice to improve upon something I’m already doing. I look forward to the weekly pep talk which really helps me stay motivated and not get lazy about my
nutrition. She holds me accountable yet keeps it very positive.
How has your daily intake and training nutrition changed and how do you think that has helped you reach your goal?
I have a had love/hate relationship with food for many years. I’ve struggled with nutritional fads which didn’t take into account my energy needs as an athlete
and training plans that didn’t take into account nutrition. My inability to find balance with food and to really figure out what I need to be consuming day to day
has caused me a lot of stress over the years. Eve considers all aspects of my lifestyle and helps me to find solutions that are realistic on race day and, more
importantly, every day.
Figuring out when to eat was a big hurdle for me. Eve has helped me to schedule my meals both weekdays and weekends to achieve balanced energy every day.
She also helped me to understand how different foods affect me. I have invested time, with Eve’s guidance, in finding meals that provide my body with a healthy mix of
carbs, proteins and fats from varied sources that work for me. I am more confident in the nutritional value of the meals I cook at home, as well as the meals I chose
when I cannot cook at home. On top of all that, Eve has guided me with specific workout/race nutrition to help me achieve my athletic goals.
Would you use the service again?
I would absolutely use Eve’s service again. I have shared my experiences with many friends and fellow athletes. As my athletic goals evolve to include more challenging
and longer races, I have every intention of continuing to seek Eve’s advice to help me achieve those goals.
Vanessa
Goal: Improve Performance (Rowing)
Goal Reached: Improved 2K Test on Ergometer from 8:46:10 to 7:50:00

"When I first met Eve, I was definitely skeptical. All I knew was that my dad had gone into the gym the previous day and had asked for their best
personal trainer and Eve was who he met. I had already gone through 6 months of unsuccessful physical therapy with several different therapists in an attempt to
treat my Hypermobility Syndrome and the severe tendonitis that came as a result. Nothing seemed to work and I was not willing to sit out another season from the
rowing team."
"As soon as I met Eve, I knew that something was going to be different this time. She is a competitive athlete and we understood each other from the get go.
I was the first rower Eve had worked with, so it was definitely a learning experience for both of us. But Eve definitely knew what she was doing and was willing to do a
great amount of research so I could achieve the best results possible. What I liked the most was how much fun Eve made blood, sweat, and tears. She always had something
new for me to do and I never felt like I was stuck doing the same thing over and over."
"While working with Eve, my joints improved significantly, and I was back on the water with my team at try-outs. Eve was right there with me
throughout the season to cheer me on at events. I gained so much confidence and knowledge from working with her and have a much healthier lifestyle. I know my way around
the gym without any hesitation, but, more importantly, I went from having to sit out for an entire season to setting a record in the Marathon Rowing Championships in “a single.”
And, from that day before I met her, Eve really is the best trainer around. Her continuing support, from day one and even now that I am not working with her on a regular basis,
truly shows what a great trainer and person she is."

words during receiving menu plans:
“Everything is
going great and I am love-love-loving having your wonderful guidance
with my nutrition. I can't tell you how great it has been the past

“The Thai Chicken

and med. veggies were awesome!”
“If you can
continue to work with me I would really really like it! I can't
tell you what a difference this is making in my life! My husband is
also eating more regularly which is good for him!”
“By the way, I
can't tell you how much better I feel. I used to be in stomach
distress everyday- either running to the bathroom or bloated and
gassy to where I sometimes buckled over. I don't have those problems
anymore. It's really amazing. Also, my husband has noticed that I am
not so totally exhausted at the end of the day- I don't get as
frustrated and fussy as I used to.”
“Thanks so much for
everything. I look forward to being in touch and letting you know
how things are going.”

Anna:
How have you benefited from using
Nutriworks’ services?
I feel like I have some control over my life.
Before I was always grabbing food on the run. I felt like since I
didn’t eat fast food that it was okay. Not only was it expensive,
but I was consistently eating too much! I have come to enjoy
preparing my food. It helps me feel like I’m taking an active role
in my health. I have lost weight, decreased my body fat, and lost
lots of inches and feel fantastic. Loosing the weight and inches has
been a nice treat, but really it’s like an afterthought. Feeling
fantastic most days is the real benefit. I have suffered from
chronic stomach problems. It was an issue that I dealt with every
day. Since using Nutriworks’ services it’s not an issue at all. This
is such a gift and has improved my quality of life tenfold.
How long did you work with Eve?
Two months.
What are the most noted results you have
experienced?
My stomach isn’t hurting all of the time. I
feel less bloated. My clothes fit better. I’m less moody. I enjoy
preparing my own food. I would actually prefer to eat at home than
go out—I’m saving money too!
What was your favorite part about having a
menu plan?
Having the structure already set out for me.
The practice of preparing all of my meals and snacks myself was very
helpful. I didn’t have to stop and think what I needed to eat. And
now making the right decision for my meals and snacks feels much
more intuitive because I had 2 months of practice. It really helped
having the portions outlined for me. I knew what a portion size
should look like, but was never able to eat a true portion size
until using the menu plan.
Did you feel like you were deprived of
anything you wanted?
Not at all! From the first week I couldn’t
believe that I was getting to eat all of the things I wanted. At
first I thought maybe Eve was just doing this to “ease” me into
things. But what was so cool is that I learned that I can have the
things I want—the treats—and I’ll only want a little bit if I’m
eating all of the other stuff I should be eating.
Would you use the service again?
Absolutely. I would recommend it to everyone.
Even if your goal is not weight loss or body fat reduction you can
benefit from working with Eve. It has helped me really truly
experience how important nutrition is in my daily life. I had to
experience the benefits to really get what difference nutrition
makes. I only wish I had found Eve years ago!
Trey
Goal: To learn proper nutrition habits while training for Ironman Coeur d'Alene
"I first learned about Eve from my coach, Ahmed Zaher. When I asked
him who could help me with my nutrition, Eve was the first person he
recommended…I soon found out why. I asked Eve to teach me the
basics on nutrition, as I was in training for my first Ironman. I
was immediately impressed when I learned that Eve, too, was about to
participate in her first Ironman. I felt very confident that she
would be able to give me the information and knowledge I needed to
maintain a proper diet. We met 4 times over the course of a month
and covered everything from macro-nutrition to supplementation and
she even took me to a grocery store to teach me how to shop…which I
REALLY needed!! It was amazing how much I learned in just one
month."
"Soon after, I was like the local expert to my friends and family.
They couldn’t believe how much I knew about nutrition. Of course,
it was probably still only 1% of what Eve knows, but it was 1,000%
more than I knew before!"
"With Eve’s help, I was able to meet my
nutrition goals for the Ironman. I now only have 1 week until the
race and I feel very prepared, both physically and mentally."
"Thanks Eve!"
Richard
Goal: To improve marathon time
"The first part of getting back on a training program is purely
internal. You have to want to do it, to make that investment in
yourself. Trouble is that’s the easy part. What’s tough is getting
on the right track and staying motivated."
"From day one, Eve challenged me to push past my
expectations. And when I was rolling, her motivation and
encouragement kept me on track. Although I had a gym membership for
years, participated in athletics most of my life, and believed I
knew my way around a weight room, Eve introduced an expertise new to
me."
"Eve taught me that balance, flexibility, and
good technique, whether in the weight room or on the track, makes up
half the base from which a first-class training program is
developed. Good nutrition, she teaches, makes up the other half.
"You know what - she's right."
"Six months after meeting Eve, and first
accepting, then applying her expertise, I finished a marathon in a
personal best time. It doesn’t end there. I’m preparing for multiple
marathons and Eve’s know-how and advice are an integral part of my
training plans."
"With Eve the training doesn’t end after the
session. She actively tracks the progress of her clients. When they
are working on a goal, whether in the gym, or in a bike race, or
like me, running a marathon, there's a good chance she’ll be there
to cheer them on. To me that says a lot about her commitment toward
the success of her clients.
"Thanks, Eve, for all you do."
Gail
Goal: Complete a Century Ride
"I met Eve in May
at a weight loss program she was helping with.
Shortly after I joined the program I set the aggressive goal of
doing a 100 mile bike ride called the Hotter-N-Hell 100.
Once I
started training I new I wouldn’t make it without help so I hired
Eve who is a personal trainer. I new she could help me because she
is also a triathlete and would know how to train me to help me
accomplish my goal. So the summer started with riding, sweating,
training sessions with Eve, sweating, riding, more sweating! I tell
you what!
If you want to set a goal and have success here is what
you need to do. 1. SET YOUR GOAL. 2. HIRE EVE. 3. ACCOMPLISH YOUR
GOAL. Because I tell you what, she will be as dedicated to your
goal as you are, maybe more! At one point I didn’t think I could do
it but we had a talk and with some encouragement and support I
continued and the end result was Aug, 27th, I rode that
100 miles.
I rode a hundred miles, lost weight, gained knowledge,
knowledge about how to fuel and take care of your body, knowledge
that will last my lifetime. All of this happened because I hired
Eve. Oh by the way, she rode that 100 miles with me. How’s that
for dedication? So just do it! Set a goal and give Eve a call!
Amanda
Goal: Lose the baby weight
Following the birth of my daughter, 35 pounds overweight, I was becoming more and more depressed.
After my first session with Eve, for the first time in a long time, I felt encouraged and motivated to
begin getting back in shape.
It's not often that you meet someone that makes you take a second
look at yourself. Eve is not only teaching me how to gain control of my weight and eating habits but
my lifestyle choices in general. She is such a caring, motivational, goal-oriented teacher that I now
want to begin an entire self-improvement process. I have never felt so health and I know I will reach my
weight loss goal and maintain it. I'm excited to continue changing myself mentally, physically, and
spiritually and I owe it all to Eve.
Somer
Goal: Finish my first triathlon
Last fall I started training for my first triathlon. I was told that training for an endurance event and
losing weight can be tricky. My coach referred me to Eve. Not only did Eve teach me proper nutrition, but I
also learned how to fuel my body for my training. I have always looked at dieting as "lo carb" "fat free"
or "eating less". But with Eve, I learned that it is about giving my body energy and fuel. The better I ate,
the better I would perform. Seeing results in my energy level during my workouts kept me motivated,
and soon after I started to see results on the scale. Now I have finished my race, I plan to continue
training and participating in Triathlons. I have also lost more than 25 lbs and gone down 2 sizes. Eve's
guidance was a big part of my success.
